Safety Coordinator

We are looking for an expert Safety Coordinator to assist our company to reduce job-related risks and accidents. As the Safety Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for monitoring operations to eliminate the potential of hazards. You’ll also establish policies to promote occupational health and safety (OSH) awareness.

The ideal candidate should be conversant with all OSH dictations and highly analytical. He should be detail-oriented with a sensitivity towards potential dangers to promote and create a healthy and safe workplace.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Suggest safety measures to reduce or eliminate safety risks.
  • Establish and execute OSH policies (e.g., accident reporting process).
  • Develop direct accident investigation procedures.
  • Create records of safety-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Plan and oversee OSH training initiatives.
  • Liaise with managers to track compliance and determine safety concerns.
  • Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.
  • Collaborate with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSH matters.
  • Conduct safety inspections before or during each project to evaluate safety risks.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace environment.
  • Closely work with company management to identify safety-related issues and supervise the observance of safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Prior work experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
  • In-depth understanding of OSH guidelines, their implementation, training programs, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of reporting and developing policies.
  • Conversant with MS Office. Strong communication and advisory skills.
  • Diligent with an analytical mind.
  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Health Care, or a related field is required.
